8- Qutab Minar

Sand Stone is used to building Qutub Minar and It took 28 years to built Qutub Minar which is completed by his son-in-law. Qutub Ud Din Aibak was the first Muslim ruler of Delhi. Qutub Minar has 379 Steps to reach the peak of Minar.

It is designed as a larger diameter base (47 feet) and reducing diameter till the peak (9 feet) of Qutub Minar. Construction of Qutub Minar was started by Qutb Ud Din Aibak and finishes by his son-in-law “lltutmish“.

Minar’s topmost part is damaged due to lightning in 1369 which was repaired by Firoz Shah Tuqhlaq. Qutub Minar has some historical Monuments of Qutub Complex around it.

9- Humanyun’s Tomb

Humayun’s Tomb is made by his first wife, Her name was Bega Begum (another name is Haji Begam). She chooses a Persian architect in order to design Humayun’s tomb.

Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son Sayyid Muhammad designed the Humayun’s Tomb they took approximately 1 year to design. Construction of Humayun’s Tomb took approximately 7 years which costs around 15 Lakh Rupees. In 1565, Construction begins and Finished in 1572.

Site for building Humayun’s Tomb is near to Yamuna Bank which is in East Delhi which is close to the “Purana Qila“. Mughal Architecture style was chosen for designing. This is the first Monument which is made by Red Sand Stone.

It comes under UNESCO World Heritage Site which is declared in 1993. When Humayun died his body is buried in his palace Purana Qila which is near to Humanyun’s Tomb.

Sri Bangla Sahib Gurudwara is a worship place for Sikh religion people but people from other religion also come here. It is located near Connaught place which is in Delhi.

In History, Sri Bangla Sahib Gurudwara was a Bungalow of Raja Jai Singh which is rebuilt in 1783. Guru Har Kishan stays here when he comes to Delhi. Guru Har Kishan used to help people suffering from diseases (Small Pox) by providing them cure and freshwater to their houses.

When Guru Har Kishan helps people and he contracted an illness and he died on March 1664. Sikh religion people feed poor/hungry people daily in Sri Bangla Sahib Gurudwara and let them sleep within Gurudwara.

Sri Bangla Sahib Gurudwara has a holy pond in the middle of Gurudwara and also have a school, kitchen, Art Gallery.

13- Raj Ghat

Raj Ghat is built in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi Ji who was born on 2 October 1869. He always says “Don’t speak badly”(Bura Matt Kaho), “Don’t listen Bad”(Bura Matt Suno) and “Don’t do bad”(Bura Matt Karo).

Mahatma Gandhi Ji killed by Nathuram Godse on 30 January 1948. Raj Ghat is located on the ring road which is also known as Mahatma Gandhi Marg. Also an eternal flame on the cremation.
